This dynamic and practical workshop explores the many layers of trauma — from its psychological roots to its physical impacts — and how those layers shape behavior, relationships, and self-perception. Participants will deepen their understanding of trauma responses, including how childhood and generational trauma affect the brain, body, and ability to cope.
Using a trauma-informed, culturally responsive lens, this session explores how stigma, intersectionality, and systemic inequities shape how trauma is experienced and expressed. The workshop offers both insight and tools — including mindfulness techniques, radical acceptance, and creative self-care practices — to help participants manage stress, foster resilience, and support others with empathy and awareness.
Interactive elements include a sensory scavenger hunt and real-world case examples grounded in both clinical knowledge and lived experience.
